Eight Apprentices start their First Day at ABM with a Knowledge Rally

The first day of work is definitely a major event in the life of a young adult. ABM arranged an exciting entry into the workforce for eight new apprentices to make sure that the first week remains treasured memory. After a brief official welcome and the traditional plant tour the new blood had the opportunity to actively learn more about their employer. A knowledge rally guided the rookies in an entertaining fashion through different departments covering careers such as tool maker, machinist and drafting technician. Rewards for all, sponsored by the tooling company Hoffmann from Nuremberg, sweetened the end of the first day..

The next event is planned for the fall break with an interesting educational trip for all apprentices and interns of ABM and their instructors and shop stewards. During trips in the last few years companies such as Audi in Ingolstadt and Brose in Coburg were toured.

Future options for all apprentices are very encouraging. This year for example all 13 apprentices that successfully graduated were offered jobs in their chosen profession. “Thanks to an occupational aptitude test initiated five years ago we can virtually guarantee a job for an apprentice who is committed to his training”, says Dr. Joerg E. Franke, CEO
