Single-phase motors with running capacitor. This type has a locked-rotor torque from 40 to 70% depending on the size of the motor. The starting current is around 3 to 4.5 times the rated current: These motors are ideal for machines that start easily.

Single-phase motors with running capacitor, auxiliary winding, starting capacitor and current-dependent starting relay offer particularly favourable performance for heavy starting. The locked-rotor torque is approx. 200%. The starting current is approx. 3 to 4.5 times the rated current.
